Adam Johnson – Bio

Adam Johnson has more than 25 years of experience teaching skating technique and training youth hockey players. Adam holds his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point and currently lives in St. Paul, MN.

As a skating instructor and skills coach his focus is on giving students knowledge! Adam does not just simply tell his students to go do something on the ice. By breaking down the process into steps he helps his students understand “why” they are doing things in a specific way, as well as the positive effects it will have on their skill development. Adams teaching and direction applies principles of balance, core control, edge control, and explosiveness to improve skating ability as well as overall hockey skills.

Adam received his training from Diane Ness – Gold Medalist, 2010 Women’s Hockey Olympic Skating Coach, Minnesota Wild Skating Coach; As well as Andy Ness – Minnesota Wild Skating and Skill Development Coach, New Jersey Devil’s Assistant Skating Instructor.

Adam is currently the Mite Director at Pro Edge Power, Hockey Director at the Saint Paul Highland Park Learn to Skate Program, as well as the President/Owner of “Top Shelf Adventures, Inc.” a local skating school focused specifically on the training of youth players, coaches, and teams with the goal of advancing their  skating technique and hockey skill development.

Adam provides the educational tools to help youth of all levels reach their full potential and enjoy their progression of skills. In short, He has an unmatched ability to inspire youth to reach higher, stride farther, and score more goals!
